These terms explain the rules that apply when you use The $5 Tutor website or register for a tutoring session.

Using this website

By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or register for a tutoring session.

Tutoring services

The $5 Tutor offers live online tutoring sessions. Available subjects, dates, formats, tutors, and prices may change. A listed session is not guaranteed until registration is completed through the booking link.

Registration and payment

Registration, meeting access, and payment are handled through Zoom. Zoom has its own Terms of Service and Privacy Statement. You are responsible for providing accurate registration information and for reviewing the session details before completing payment.

Pricing

Prices shown on this website are stated in U.S. dollars unless noted otherwise. The price displayed for the selected session during Zoom registration is the price that applies to that booking.

Cancellations, refunds, and no-shows

Please review these terms before registering for a session.
  • Cancel at least 24 hours before the session: You may request a full refund.
  • Cancel within 24 hours of the session: The payment is nonrefundable. A one-time credit toward another session may be offered at the tutor’s discretion.
  • No-shows: Payments are nonrefundable if you do not attend and do not cancel in advance.
  • Late arrivals: You may join a session after it begins, but the session will still end at its scheduled time.
  • If The $5 Tutor cancels: You may receive a full refund or transfer the payment to another available session.
  • Technical problems: If a tutor-side technical problem prevents the session from taking place, you may receive a refund or transfer. Problems with a student’s device, software, or internet connection are not normally refundable.

Send refund requests to support@thefiverdollartutor.com within seven calendar days of the scheduled session. Approved refunds are returned through the original payment method. Processing time is controlled by Zoom and its payment provider.

Student responsibilities

Students must use the tutoring service respectfully, follow the tutor’s instructions, and avoid disrupting a session. Meeting links and access details may not be shared with people who have not registered. Recording a session is not permitted without advance written permission from everyone involved.

Educational guidance

Tutoring provides instruction and academic support. It does not guarantee a particular grade, exam result, course outcome, admission decision, or professional result. Students remain responsible for their own assignments, decisions, and compliance with school rules, including academic integrity requirements.

Technology requirements

You are responsible for having a compatible device, reliable internet connection, and any software needed to join the Zoom session. The $5 Tutor is not responsible for interruptions caused by a student’s equipment, connection, or third-party services.

Minors

A parent or legal guardian should complete registration and payment for a student under 13. A parent or guardian is responsible for deciding whether the tutoring service is appropriate for a minor and for supervising the minor’s participation as needed.

Website content and intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the text, graphics, branding, and original materials on this website belong to The $5 Tutor or are used with permission. You may use them for personal, noncommercial purposes related to the tutoring service. They may not be copied, sold, republished, or used to create competing materials without permission.

Third-party services and links

This website may link to Zoom and other third-party services. The $5 Tutor does not control those services and is not responsible for their availability, content, security, or practices.

Availability and changes

We may update the website, tutoring offerings, schedule, pricing, or these terms. We may also suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect the service or other users. The date at the top will show when these terms were last revised.
